The Role

This is a
new category of CTO

.

You will design, build, and continuously optimize an
AI workforce

that executes across:

  • Product & engineering
  • Data pipelines & analytics
  • Marketing & growth experiments
  • Sales enablement & internal tooling

Humans define

Your job is to make the company behave like software.

Mission

Your mandate is brutally simple:

  • If something works →
    scale it automatically
  • If something doesn't →
    kill it automatically
  • If humans repeat a task →
    the system is wrong

The long-term bottleneck of Caire should be
compute, not headcount

What You Will Build (Hands-On)
1. AI Workforce Architecture

  • Agent roles, responsibilities, and collaboration patterns
  • Evaluator agents, review loops, and self-correction mechanisms
  • PRD → code → test → deploy pipelines run primarily by agents
  • Repo conventions and workflows that agents must follow

2. Agent-First Execution

  • Multi-agent orchestration (build, review, test, ship)
  • AI systems that evaluate and improve other AI systems
  • Deterministic execution where possible — evaluators where not
  • Systems that remove work instead of automating it

3. Tool & Model Agnosticism

You will continuously evaluate and rotate between:

  • OpenAI, Anthropic, Google
  • Open-source and proprietary agent frameworks
  • Emerging tools (Claude-code style, evaluator agents, orchestration layers)

No vendor loyalty.

Only
performance, cost, reliability, and leverage

matter.

4. Metrics-Driven Autonomy

  • Execution tied directly to business signals (revenue, cost, funnel metrics)
  • Budgets and cash balance treated as system inputs
  • AI decides
    how much

to scale within constraints

What You Will Explicitly NOT Do

  • Manage engineers
  • Run standups
  • Plan hiring
  • Build org charts
  • Debate architecture instead of shipping

Background & Experience

  • MSc or equivalent depth in
    Computer Science, AI, Data, or Systems Engineering
  • 6–12 years hands-on experience building real systems (not slides)
  • Experience from
    top-tier tech companies, scaleups, or elite startups
  • Proven ability to ship systems used in production at scale

AI & Technical Depth

  • Deep hands-on experience with
    LLMs and agentic systems
  • Comfortable with
    AI-assisted / vibe-coding workflows
  • Experience designing
    architectures, not just features
  • Strong systems thinking: feedback loops, constraints, failure modes
  • Comfortable discarding tools, frameworks, and approaches quickly

  • Highly analytical and systems-oriented
  • Obsessed with leverage and automation
  • Curious, fast-learning, and intolerant of inefficiency
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and extreme ownership
