Stockholm HQ, Sweden Legora AB Full time
About Us

Legora is on a mission: to redefine how legal work gets done. From the very start we have been very clear about the fact that we are not building a solution for lawyers, we are building it with them, because it is the only way to make sure it gets done the right way; working side-by-side every step of the way.

Our AI-native workspace empowers legal professionals not just to work faster - but to ask better questions, unlock new insights. Every day, we push the boundaries of legal tech to make complex processes smarter, faster, and more human. From thousands of documents analysed in minutes to intelligent workflows designed in collaboration with leading practices, we're turning possibility into reality.

Today we are trusted by global firms like Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Bird & Bird and Linklaters in over 40 countries, but we have no plans on stopping here. We ship fast, we iterate effectively, and we scale rapidly - not by accident, but by design.

When you join Legora, you become part of a team that believes "good enough" isn't good enough and that the way to win is together, by empowering lawyers to do their best work with technology that truly understands them. If you're excited by building from first principles, working with exceptional people, and accelerating change in a high-stakes, high-impact domain—then this is the moment and the place.

We're not just shaping the future of legal tech — we're defining it. Ready to join us in building the intelligent future of law?

The Role

As Global Payroll Manager, you will own the full end-to-end payroll lifecycle across all of Legora's global geographies. This is a high-impact role, pivotal to ensuring our payroll processes are timely, compliant, and scalable across Europe, the UK, the US, and beyond.

You'll be responsible for overseeing payroll strategy, execution, compliance, and continuous improvement. Partnering closely with internal stakeholders and trusted external providers, you'll ensure every Legorian is paid accurately and on time - no matter where they are in the world.

This role goes far beyond operational delivery. You'll define and evolve the payroll infrastructure that supports our international workforce and contribute meaningfully to our People, Finance, and Operations strategies.

What You'll Do

  • Lead global payroll operations across all geographies, including monthly and bi-weekly cycles, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Own the full payroll lifecycle - from onboarding and data collection through processing, payments, audits, and reporting.

  • Manage vendor relationships with global and local payroll providers, driving consistency and service quality.

  • Ensure statutory compliance with all local labor, tax, pension, and social security regulations across jurisdictions.

  • Support compensation design and execution, including commissions, bonuses, and other variable pay structures.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll matters globally - fielding inquiries and advising leaders across the business.

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and People teams to support audits, budgeting, compliance reviews, and reporting.

  • Design and improve scalable payroll processes, ensuring readiness for future geographic and headcount expansion.

  • Support international mobility, including visa, relocation, and immigration processes from a payroll compliance perspective.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience managing payroll in a multi-country environment (ideally including Europe, UK, and the US).

  • Deep understanding of global payroll operations, statutory compliance, and vendor management.

  • Hands-on experience managing commission plans and complex pay structures.

  • Skilled at navigating multiple systems, tools, and data sets with precision and accountability.

  • Comfortable operating in high-growth, fast-paced, and distributed organizations.

  • Excellent communicator who can translate complexity into clarity - for both leadership and employees.

  • You thrive in environments where processes are still being built - and you enjoy being the one to build them.
