Monsson Energy is part of the international Monsson Group, which for over two decades has been at the forefront of development in wind, solar, and energy storage. In Sweden, our current focus is on building future solutions for battery storage (BESS) – a key element in the energy transition.

With us, you will work in an entrepreneurial company with short decision-making paths and great opportunities to influence, while at the same time benefiting from the strength and resources of an international group. We are in a strong growth phase, which means that you will not only be part of a team in Romania – you will also help shape our journey in the Swedish market. This position will be the first Energy Trader placed locally in Sweden. Initially, the role includes travel to Romania for onboarding and collaboration with our established trading teams, after which the role will be based in Sweden.

As an Energy Trader at Monsson Energy, you will be a key player in our Swedish team, responsible for developing and executing trading strategies in both the short and long term. The role includes active work with market expectations, price development, and regulatory changes to optimize our positions.

An important part of the role is to stay updated on market news and regulatory changes, while also identifying new market opportunities. You will collaborate closely with the trading team in Romania, analyze past trading performance, and contribute to improving decision-making processes. The role also involves close cooperation with our software and technical teams to optimize and test new trading strategies and tools.

We are looking for someone with:

Mandatory requirements:

  • Experience in electricity trading on the spot markets (Day-Ahead and Intraday) in Sweden.
  • Solid knowledge of Nordic trading platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of Swedish and Nordic regulations.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with experience using Excel or other data-driven tools.
  • Ability to make price and volume forecasts based on market behavior, weather models, and operational patterns.
  • A relevant Degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Mathematics, or another relevant field.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

  • Experience with ancillary services markets (e.g., FCR, aFRR, mFRR).
  • International experience from other Nordic electricity markets.
  • Understanding of battery storage (BESS), demand flexibility, or virtual power plants (VPP).
  • Experience working with IT/development teams on automated trading or trading platforms.
