About the role:

We are looking for an experienced
Embedded Hardware Design Engineer
for a
6-month contract assignment
based in Västerås, Sweden. You will be working on advanced
power supply design projects
in a high-demand engineering environment.

The role focuses on
designing and testing power supplies
that meet strict efficiency, EMC, cooling, and sizing requirements.

This is a
hands-on role
involving concept design, transformer calculations, component selection, and extensive
laboratory verification under varied conditions
. The role is critical to ensuring project delivery in an expanding portfolio of acquisition-driven projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop power supplies, including transformers and associated circuitry.
  • Ensure compliance with efficiency, EMC, thermal, and mechanical requirements.
  • Select and size components, performing calculations and trade-off analyses.
  • Support and execute extensive testing and verification across parameters (temperature, input voltage, load).
  • Work at low to 'mains' voltage - 60V DC up to ~340V DC for 240V AC input
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and provide technical documentation.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a
    Hardware/Power Electronics Engineer
    with expertise in
    power supply design
    .
  • Strong background in
    transformer design
    and power conversion topologies.
  • Experience in building
    AC/DC supplies,
    invertors.
  • Proficient in
    component selection, sizing, and circuit calculations
    .
  • Experience with
    EMC, cooling, and efficiency testing methodologies
    .
  • Experience in
    loop control
  • Knowledge of
    automatic test systems
    for power supply verification is an advantage.
  • English required, Swedish a plus.
  • Willingness to work
    primarily onsite in Västerås
    .
