ROLE & PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Country People Partner acts as the operational HR leader within the country, serving as the primary point of contact for local business leaders, employee representatives, and Global People Partners. Leads local execution of the people strategy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as the primary People contact for the Country Manager, providing HR guidance and support.
  • Partner with Global People Partners to ensure effective execution and prioritization of HR initiatives and employee experience programs.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Own and manage employee relations within the geography, including handling sensitive cases and interfacing with employee representatives and unions.
  • Monitor and improve the employee experience across the associate population within the country.
  • Accountable for the full employee lifecycle, with strategic and functional guidance provided by the respective Global People Partner on business-specific matters.
  • Act as the direct point of contact for employee relations involving leaders from C-4 level and below.
  • For cases involving C-3 level leaders and above, coordinate with the respective Global People Partner.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and internal policies, mitigating risks and resolving conflicts effectively.

Execution of People Strategy

  • Lead the local implementation of the global People strategy, adapting it to meet country-specific requirements.
  • Execute on initiatives related to talent management, organizational development, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborates with global Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in Leadership, Learning & Culture, Talent & Succession, Total Rewards, HR Controlling & People Analytics, HR Digitalization
  • Champion employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
  • Analyze HR data and KPIs to deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the area of responsibility

Payroll Oversight

  • Approve and oversee monthly payroll processes in collaboration with Finance and Payroll teams.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations and internal controls.
  • Act as escalation point for payroll-related issues impacting employees.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand workforce needs and deliver tailored HR solutions.
  • Represent the People function in local leadership forums and contribute to country-level strategic planning.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Critical:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience as People Partner, ideally in a role within a multinational or matrixed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, including handling complex cases and working with employee representatives or unions.
  • Proven ability to influence and build trust with all stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Acting as role model for inclusive behavior with high level of integrity
  • Entrepreneurial, self-confident and high level of self-awareness
  • Highly resilient and well-balanced personality

Preferred:

  • Experience with payroll oversight, including approval processes and collaboration with Finance/Payroll teams.
  • Experience working with Global People Partners or in a global HR function.
  • Familiarity with HCM tools (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in change management or organizational development initiatives.
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Service, and Support functions.
  • Understanding of payroll systems and reporting tools.
