Master Thesis Project: Pilot project on process intensification and flexible process design
As part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team within the Resin and Technology OpCo, we are actively developing manufacturing strategies and methods for resins (Chromatography media). Resins for pharmaceutical purification usually consist of a combination of a base matrix and a ligand. Due to an increase in demand of Cytiva's products, there is a need for process intensification and improvement in flexibility in resin manufacturing.
The scope is to investigate potential for process intensification by enhanced flexibility in resin manufacturing. The aim of this project is to investigate a delimited part of this topic that matches the student's goals for the thesis course. This research field and method will be specified in collaboration with the student. The AME section has broad potential to investigate this topic with explorative approaches, through data analysis and hands-on experiments. Data analysis is made using Multivariate and Univariate statistical methods, based on tools like rStudio, Python, Excel or Simca.
Who you are
You are completing a Master of Science thesis in technology or engineering, specialising in Molecular Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Automation, Machine Learning, or AI. You are driven with an interest in computational methods, and applied statistics. The 30 hp thesis is scheduled from January to June 2026.
