Every potent medicine may cause harm. Preventing this is one of UMC's most important objectives. At the Research department, multi-professional teams are working together to develop new methods that empower human experts in detecting new, yet unknown harmful effects of medicines.

Uppsala Monitoring Centre is a dynamic non-profit organization with the mission of improving the safety of medicines throughout the world. By managing and analyzing VigiBase, WHO's global database of reported potential side effects of medicinal products, consisting of more than 28 million reports from patients and health care professionals in more than 130 countries, UMC has a unique role in detecting the adverse effects of medicines, for which it is recognized internationally.

Skills & Requirements
Who you are

  • You are enthusiastic and want to solve meaningful problems
  • You are analytical, curious, independent and have an inquisitive mind
  • You have basic training in medicine, pharmacy or nursing
  • You have advanced training in medicine, pharmacovigilance or medical informatics
  • You are passionate about improving drug safety
