The Position

As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for balancing project deliverables with leadership and people management duties. You will collaborate with team leadership and your manager to ensure successful delivery of results and contribute to building Avalanche's capabilities. Your role includes monitoring productivity, delivery, and quality standards, while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

You will also manage the employee journey for your direct reports, from recruitment to onboarding, performance evaluations, promotions, and offboarding. Your leadership will involve offering support and guidance to your team to help them overcome challenges and grow professionally. In addition, you will ensure compliance with operational and legal requirements, addressing administrative tasks and legal issues such as workplace environment, employee privacy, and work hours.

What you'll do

Collaborate with team leadership to deliver high-quality technical projects on time.

Oversee the employee journey for your direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, feedback, performance evaluations, salary recommendations, and career development.

Create a supportive team atmosphere, resolve challenges, and ensure a productive work environment.

Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations on workplace environment, discrimination, and employee privacy.

Approve time reports, manage time-off requests, and maintain accurate employee data.

Manage and coach entry-level employees and individual contributors. Your decisions will influence the quality and effectiveness of your team and closely related teams.

Identify and resolve technical and operational issues within your area of responsibility, applying solid technical knowledge and practical skills to address challenges effectively.

Work closely with leadership on project execution, adhering to operational and technical processes while managing your team with autonomy.

Accountable for the performance and productivity of your direct reports, balancing your own contributions with managing the team's performance.

Who you are

Several years of AAA game development experience, with at least one shipped open-world title (or equivalent).

Experience managing a team.

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and effective at both independent and team-based work.

Ability to communicate ideas and requirements effectively to stakeholders.

Strong technical problem-solving skills and a keen eye for functional design.

Passion for making and playing games.
