Director of Technical Delivery

We are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and technically adept
Technical Delivery Director
with a strong background in the software services industry to join our team in Copenhagen or Malmö.

In this role, you will oversee complex transformation programs and projects for one of our key clients in the region. You will manage multiple workstreams, coordinating efforts between local and global delivery teams to ensure seamless execution. As the primary point of accountability, you will be responsible for program delivery, maintaining client satisfaction, and managing expectations while ensuring all initiatives align with strategy, timelines, and budgets. You will collaborate with award-winning design, development, and technology teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and building strong business and technology relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of a critical program for a client in the pharmaceutical industry
• Manage client relationships and expectations, serving as the primary representative for delivery at the governance level
• Coordinate multiple workstreams, ensuring successful delivery across areas such as finance, sourcing, implementation, and business outcomes
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance, to develop estimates, delivery plans, and retrospectives
• Proactively identify and address engagement risks, escalating major issues as needed
• Participate in business development activities for both existing and new clients, identifying opportunities for growth
• Engage in the pre-sales cycle, preparing client proposals, defining implementation strategies, and presenting solution architectures and delivery plans

Requirements

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong understanding of business models, particularly in Development and R&D
• Experience working with cloud and data platforms, such as Databricks, Data Mesh, AI/ML, AI Strategy, and Snowflake, with a focus on Life Sciences applications
• Knowledge of AI/ML solutions and their application in the Life Sciences domain
• Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and various methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall delivery models
• Proven experience delivering complex projects, managing client stakeholders at all levels, and driving IT services engagements to success
• Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and effectively collaborate as part of a dynamic, distributed virtual team
• Strong communication, presentation, and planning abilities
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and iterative delivery approaches to create scalable and modern solutions
• Technical expertise in software engineering practices, with the ability to guide competitive technical decisions and ensure effective delivery practices are applied
• Experience delivering data projects and a strong understanding of data management concepts, including governance, quality, integration, and lifecycle management
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively, and leveraging distributed delivery teams across client and EPAM

• Experience with backend and infrastructure services
