The Role

We're looking for a
Founding CTO
to architect, build, and scale the intelligence core that powers Sumbios.

This is not a conventional CTO role.

This is a chance to define a new computing paradigm, one where memory, reasoning, trust, and relationships form a living intelligence that humans and AI can work through together.

You will:

• Build the Temporal Dynamic Contextual Knowledge Graph (TDCKG): the evolving memory and reasoning substrate behind Sumbios.
• Architect the orchestration layer that connects agents, models, workflows, people, and organizations.
• Shape the engineering culture, practices, and technical strategy for the entire company.
• Co-create the frontier of relational AI, symbiotic memory, and contextual intelligence.

You will work directly with the
Founder & CPO
and our chief information officer as a foundational partner in designing, building, and scaling the Symbiotic Intelligence Engine into a global platform.

What You'll Do

1. Architect the Intelligence Core

• Design and lead the
  Temporal Dynamic Contextual Knowledge Graph (TDCKG),
  the heart of Sumbios' intelligence layer.
• Build temporal, event-driven graph systems that evolve with user, organizational, and relational context.

Develop the
Memory & Context Engine
, unifying:

• knowledge graphs
• embeddings
• vectorised context
• temporal logic
• adaptive retrieval and reasoning

Enable real-time, permission-aware context propagation across people, agents, workspaces, and organisations.

2. Build the Orchestration Layer

• Implement compositional automation using
  LangGraph
  ,
  MCP (Model Context Protocol)
  , or custom frameworks.

Create systems for:

• contextual query routing
• graph writes & updates
• agent-to-agent communication
• temporal state management

Evolve Sumbios into a
distributed, composable intelligence fabric
capable of multi-agent collaboration and adaptive behavior.

3. Lead & Scale the Engineering Org

• Build and guide a high-agency technical team across AI, graph systems, DevOps, and full-stack development.
• Collaborate deeply with product, design, research, and operations to align human workflows with technical architecture.

Define engineering principles that balance:

• speed with coherence
• exploration with reliability
• creative freedom with architectural integrity

Establish the technical culture that will shape the next decade of Sumbios.

4. Pioneer at the Frontier of Relational AI

• Explore how symbolic reasoning, embeddings, LLMs, and temporal context form a unified intelligence system.

Push the boundaries of:

• memory-driven AI
• symbiotic computation
• context-aware orchestration
• relational intelligence

Shape long-term technical vision, ecosystem strategy, and deep partnerships across AI, infrastructure, and graph technologies.

You Might Be a Fit If You…

• Have
  8+ years
  of experience architecting large-scale systems in AI, distributed systems, or advanced data architectures.
• Have built knowledge-graph systems (Neo4j, RDF/OWL, property graphs, or custom engines).
• Understand
  temporal graph architectures
  ,
  event-driven systems
  , and
  context propagation
  .

Have experience with:

• embeddings
• vector stores
• memory-driven or contextual reasoning systems
• LLM orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, MCP, etc.)

Thrive in ambiguity, move with precision, and find elegance in complexity.

Care deeply about building
human-centered
, ethical systems that expand collective intelligence.
