Data Engineer

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Data Engineer based onsite in Sweden for an initial 5 month contract.

Role description:

Our client are looking for a Data Engineer with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in DBT, Databricks, and great understanding of data Lakehouse architectures to deliver in one of the data teams "Network Operations" or "Asset Management".

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in the design phase of data products.
  • Develop, and optimize data pipelines for data products using dbt and Databricks (and potentially streaming data in Kafka).
  • Work closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, analysts, other data teams and/or application teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data products.
  • Implement data governance, testing, and CI/CD best practices to ensure data integrity and operational excellence.

Key Skills:

  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and modern data transformation frameworks such as dbt.
  • Experienced in Git and preferably Gitlab.
  • Experienced in Databricks (Spark, Unity Catalog).
  • Understanding of Data Lake and Data Lakehouse concepts (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta Lake).
  • Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating across disciplines to deliver data products that drive business value.
  • Experienced in Kafka is a great merit
