Data Engineer

Our client, a leading international organisation, are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their team for an initial 5 month contract, starting mid November.

This will be working with the Data Management team, they are looking for someone with good technical knowledge and experience with dbt, Databricks and a good understanding of data Lakehouse architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in the design phase of data products
  • Develop and optimise data pipelines for data products using dbt and Databricks, as well as potentially Kafka streaming
  • Working closely with AI/ML Engineers, data scientists, analysts, other Data teams and application teams
  • Implement data governance, testing and CICD best practice to ensure data quality

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years expeirence as a Data Engineer
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and modern data transformation frameworks such as dbt.
  • Experienced in Git and preferably Gitlab.
  • Experienced in Databricks (Spark, Unity Catalog).
  • Understanding of data lake and data lakehouse concepts (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta Lake).
  • Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating across disciplines to deliver data products that drive business value.
  • Experienced in Kafka is a great merit.
