Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden H&M Group Full time
Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Communications Specialist and Press Officer, you contribute to added customer value, a strong brand, and increased fashion perception by ensuring high-quality media relations and PR and communications activities, both internally and externally. You play a key role in protecting and balancing the narrative of the H&M brand on the Swedish market.

You work towards cross-functional goals, driving customer centricity in all parts of your work. You collaborate closely with other teams within the Customer Activation & Marketing organization.

You plan, execute, and follow up on PR and communications activities in accordance with H&M brand guidelines and policies. You act as a local spokesperson, managing both proactive and reactive media relations, and are responsible for internal communication on the local market.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strengthen H&M's media presence by building trust and developing the brand's image on the Swedish market. Monitor and respond to local media inquiries while proactively pitching news and stories in selected focus areas.
  • Develop and maintain strong media relationships, ensuring a robust network of H&M ambassadors and relevant contacts.
  • Safeguard the H&M brand through effective crisis communication and timely response to sensitive issues.
  • Lead complex communication projects involving multiple stakeholders, collaborating with both local and global colleagues to achieve PR and communication objectives.
  • Track and report performance, following up on KPIs and objectives connected to PR and communication initiatives.
  • Manage internal communication channels, including local editions of newsletters, and ensure a consistent and clear flow of information across the business at a local level.
  • Share relevant business updates and information with internal stakeholders to support transparency and engagement within the local market.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

Together with your team, you build, maintain and cultivate relationships with key media and opinion leaders, internal and external stakeholders, local NGO's and other external organisations and partners. You play an important part in guiding and collaborating with senior management stakeholders. You collaborate closely with the Nordic Fashion PR team and the Global Media Relations team.

WHO YOU ARE

You have a strong business and brand focus and are insight- and data-driven, with a proven ability to deliver results and work towards clear goals. Your experience as a communications specialist demonstrates your ability to create measurable impact, supported by deep knowledge of PR and communications. You work both proactively and reactively to strengthen and protect the brand, and with your insight-driven mindset, you identify innovative ways to engage customers and stakeholders. You are business-oriented, customer-focused, communicative, and an excellent relationship builder.

What you need to succeed:

  • Strong project management skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong commercial focus combined with an insight- and data-driven approach.
  • Formal education in Communications and/or Marketing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar roles within PR/Communications, either on the agency or client side.
  • Solid experience in Media Relations, Corporate PR, Internal Communications, and Crisis Communications.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills; a broad network within Swedish media is meriting.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken Swedish and English.
