Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
• Advises immediate management on project-level issues
• Guides junior engineers
• Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

Expected Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

Your day-to-day
As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Backend, you'll design and implement robust server-side solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality backend services. Your day-to-day will primarily involve:

• Designing and developing scalable microservices and distributed systems
• Optimizing system performance, reliability, and security
• Learning from and supporting other engineers
• Collaborating with frontend and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

What you need to succeed

• Advanced proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin, with strong expertise in JVM ecosystem, concurrent programming, and modern backend development patterns
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS), building scalable and maintainable cloud-native applications
• Proven experience in developing high-performance distributed systems, focusing on performance optimization, security, and fault tolerance
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to technical leadership through code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring junior engineers
• Deep knowledge of backend technologies including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, message queues, and modern build tools (Gradle, Maven)
• Expert understanding of database design, caching strategies, and backend testing frameworks, ensuring robust and maintainable code
