We are looking for a software engineer to join the team developing the simulation process and data management functionality in COMSOL Multiphysics. The majority of the coding is done in Java, with some in C#, SQL, and TypeScript.About COMSOLCOMSOL develops cutting-edge mathematical modeling software that powers innovations in physics and engineering. Our flagship product, COMSOL Multiphysics, is widely used across all fields of engineering, manufacturing, and scientific research to model multiphysics systems. Our customers leverage our software to understand, predict, and optimize product designs and processes. Founded in Sweden in 1986, COMSOL has expanded globally with 16 offices employing more than 500 people worldwide.RoleBased in our newly renovated office in central Stockholm, the team works on the Model Manager — a process and data management system for simulation modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics. The team belongs to the core group developing the user interface, communication, and data layer functionality of the COMSOL product suite. The group is also responsible for the Application Builder, COMSOL Server, and COMSOL Compiler functionality, which customers use to create, deploy, and manage simulation apps. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, contributing to project specifications and design, and testing new functionality.QualificationsFor this position, we are looking for a recent graduate or a junior software engineer with the following qualifications:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics.
  • Excellent university grades.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming.

Additional qualifications that would be highly valued:

  • Some experience with software projects.
  • Knowledge of general software engineering and computer science principles.
