For our client we are looking for a skilled communicator, who values solid technical processes and enjoys working closely with Engineers to deliver a developer experience that meets the highest quality standards. As a Technical Information Specialist in combination with the role of a QA Engineer within the team, you will play a key role in setting new standards for an exceptional developer experience. You will work with a team of talented Developers, Designers, Business Analysts, Product Managers and collaborate with other stakeholders to deliver content and clarity for our Developer Portals. Your dedication to quality standards and processes complements your passion for creating clear end-user documentation, ensuring that our Developer Portals are well-structured, bug-free, and easy to maintain.

Work description

  • Support teams in creating detailed and engaging tutorials that guide end users through every step of their developer journey.
  • Review and publish API documentation and other content for clarity, grammar, and consistency, ensuring all documentation adheres to Volvo's standards and provides a seamless, uniform experience.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into an accessible language for diverse audiences, including end users, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Plan and conduct thorough usability testing to gather valuable feedback and implement data-driven improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Participate in the planning stages of development to help secure and maintain high quality testing standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development Teams, Engineers, Digital Product Owners, and other stakeholders to drive our journey toward developer self-service, ensuring consistent alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.

Skills and Experiences required:

  • A university degree in a relevant field and at least 5- 10 years of combined experience in developing user-friendly end-user documentation and conducting quality assurance for software or website testing.
  • A good understanding of information architecture principles as well as familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and agile methodologies.
  • Expert in Technical writing/Technical Documentation of SW (Please note that it has to be within SW NOT HW).
  • You have excellent communication and networking skills
  • Pro-active and a problem solver
  • Attentive to details and with strong focus on quality
  • You have worked as a QA and/or Test Lead with a great ability to create test plans and work in a structured way.
  • Used to working in a global environment
  • You are located in Gothenburg and can start more or less right away.
