Job Summary

Technologist 365 is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager specializing in solution modernization, migration, and digital transformation.

This role involves leading end-to-end modernization and migration initiatives for major enterprise clients, transforming legacy systems into modern, scalable, and secure solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise, technical understanding of development and architecture, and commercial acumen to align technology delivery with business value.

Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Modernization & Migration

• Lead modernization projects from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based or hybrid environments.
• Define, plan, and execute migration roadmaps ensuring scalability, security, and minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to design microservices or container-based modernization solutions.
• Manage full project lifecycles — from assessment and planning to delivery and optimization.

Sales & Business Engagement

• Support pre-sales activities with solution roadmaps, proposals, and modernization strategies.
• Translate technical opportunities into tangible business outcomes for clients.
• Collaborate with business and solution teams to identify expansion opportunities in ongoing engagements.

Project Management

• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, resources, and risk management.
• Apply agile methodologies to enhance project collaboration and delivery performance.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Track financial performance and ensure project profitability.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as the main point of contact for project communication and client alignment.
• Conduct progress reviews, steering meetings, and retrospectives.
• Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through proactive engagement and transparency.

Reporting & Quality

• Provide clear progress, risk, and performance reporting to leadership and clients.
• Ensure deliverables meet technical, functional, and quality standards.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in IT project management with focus on modernization and migration.
• Proven record in cloud migrations (AWS or IBM Cloud) and modernization projects.
• Experience working closely with development teams and solution architects.
• Prior involvement in pre-sales or customer-facing consulting roles is highly valued.

Skills

• Strong understanding of modern architectures, microservices, and API-driven design.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong business and sales awareness, able to connect technology to ROI.
• Skilled in Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar tools.
• Fluent in English; Swedish proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Certifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, or PMI-ACP
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud)
