About the Opportunity

Waitwhile is a pioneering company that aims to revolutionize the way people experience waiting in lines. With a platform trusted by over 10,000 companies worldwide, we have helped more than 250 million people enjoy a significantly improved waiting experience at various establishments.

We are seeking a part-time In-House Counsel in Europe to join our mission to eliminate waiting and enhance customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Legal and Compliance: Provide expert legal counsel and compliance guidance for our operations in Sweden and the United States, ensuring that the company adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure seamless business operations.
  • Commercial Deal Management: Collaborate with our Sales team to close deals efficiently by providing effective legal counsel, negotiating with customers, mitigating risks, and managing all stakeholders involved in the deal process.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Provide guidance on IP matters, including licensing and trademark issues, and manage necessary external advisors.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist with basic corporate governance matters.
  • Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact person for all internal and external legal matters.
  • Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure that the company's practices remain compliant.

We envision this role to be 25-50% full-time but are open to exploring more flexibility in working hours.

Requirements
  • Law degree from a reputable university with at least 3 years of experience in-house and/or at a law firm.
  • Proven track record of managing and closing complex SaaS deals, SLA negotiation, and information security.
  • General knowledge of data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and implementing compliance strategies.
  • Understanding of intellectual property law and information security clauses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
Bonus Skills and Attributes
  • Experience with SOC2 or ISO 27001.
  • Experience with Cyber Insurance.
