Job Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Supply Chain Management Professional to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global sourcing initiatives and collaborating with the category manager to drive RFQs, RFPs for project execution.

As a seasoned professional with more than 5 years of experience in similar positions, you will be responsible for issuing proper quotation comparison/equalization maps to support purchasing decisions and updating costs for project execution against budget targets.

Our ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to handle several tasks in parallel, and fluency in English, both written and spoken. Professional experience in supply chain functions, category management, strategic sourcing, project management, or procurement is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic sourcing activities, in close alignment with the category manager, driving RFQs, RFPs for project execution.

  • Issue proper quotation comparison/equalization maps to support purchasing decisions; update costs for project execution against budget targets.

  • Initiate Purchase Orders (PO) and, when needed, support collecting Order Acknowledgments from suppliers.

  • Control appropriate time responses from suppliers and meet internal demands and schedules.

  • Maintain good and transparent relationships with suppliers, ensuring they comply with laws, regulations, standards, certificates, and directives required by Hitachi Energy.

  • Support category-related actions on supplier qualification and audits process, as well as recover supplier-caused claim values, matching claims with reported non-conformities related to Supplier Quality.

  • Foster collaboration as ONE Hitachi Energy team. Work together with the global SCM team of category managers, transactional buyers, logistic planners, and supplier quality engineers to ensure that goods and materials are procured, produced, and delivered on budget, on time, and with quality to our project sites worldwide.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Requires more than 5 years of experience in similar positions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to handle several tasks in parallel.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

  • Professional experience in supply chain functions, category management, strategic sourcing, project management, or procurement is required.

  • Able to handle ups and downs and manage problems that may occur.

  • Experience in HVDC projects will be an added advantage.
