Category Management Specialist

HVDC is seeking a Category Specialist to support global sourcing initiatives in collaboration with the category manager. The ideal candidate will handle activities that require agility to transform category strategies into actions.
As a Category Specialist, you will work collaboratively with the Project team and other internal stakeholders, engage in projects, and execute strategies defined during the Tendering phase. This position requires more than 5 years of experience in similar roles.
Your Responsibilities
- Support Strategic Sourcing Activities: Align with the category manager to drive RFQs and RFPs for project execution.
- Issue Proper Quotation Comparison/EQUALIZATION MAP: Support purchasing decisions by issuing proper quotation comparison/equalization maps; update costs for project execution against budget targets.
- Initiate Purchase Orders (PO): Issue POs and, when needed, support collecting Order Acknowledgments from suppliers.
- Control Time Response from Suppliers: Meet internal demands and schedules while controlling appropriate time response from suppliers.
- Maintain Good Supplier Relationships: Foster good and transparent relationships with suppliers and ensure they comply with laws, regulations, standards, certificates, and directives required by Hitachi Energy.
- Support Category-Related Actions: Assist with supplier qualification and audits process, as well as recover supplier-caused claim values matching claims with reported non-conformities related to Supplier Quality.
- Foster Collaboration: Work together with the global SCM team of category managers, transactional buyers, logistic planners, and supplier quality engineers to procure, produce, and deliver goods and materials on budget, on time, and with quality to our project sites worldwide.

Your Background
This role requires a curious person with a strong sense of ownership and maturity to challenge themselves and the organization for continuous improvement and changes. We need a team player with strong communicative and collaborative skills who enjoys interacting with others in a multicultural and challenging global business environment.
A relevant academic degree is preferred: BE (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical). Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience shall also be considered. Professional experience in supply chain functions, category management, strategic sourcing, project management, or procurement is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to handle several tasks in parallel.
A motivated and self-confident individual who can handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur is desired. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Experience in HVDC projects will be an added advantage.
