Strategic Sourcing Professional

HVDC is looking for a Category Specialist to support the category manager in driving global sourcing initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the Project team and other internal stakeholders to execute strategies defined during the Tendering phase. More than 5 years of experience in similar roles is required.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Category Manager: Support strategic sourcing activities in close alignment with the category manager.
- Create Data-Driven Solutions: Develop data-driven solutions to support purchasing decisions; update costs for project execution against budget targets.
- Process Purchase Orders (PO): Initiate POs and, when needed, support collecting Order Acknowledgments from suppliers.
- Control Time Response from Suppliers: Manage time response from suppliers and meet internal demands and schedules.
- Develop Positive Supplier Relationships: Foster good and transparent relationships with suppliers and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, certificates, and directives required by Hitachi Energy.
- Support Category Activities: Assist with supplier qualification and audits process, as well as recover supplier-caused claim values matching claims with reported non-conformities related to Supplier Quality.
- Cultivate Collaboration: Collaborate with the global SCM team of category managers, transactional buyers, logistic planners, and supplier quality engineers to procure, produce, and deliver goods and materials on budget, on time, and with quality to our project sites worldwide.

Your Background
Highly skilled professionals with over 5 years of experience in similar roles are sought after for this challenging position. We require individuals with strong communication and collaboration skills who thrive in a multicultural and dynamic global business environment. A relevant academic degree, preferably BE (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical), is highly regarded. Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience shall also be considered. Essential skills include professional experience in supply chain functions, category management, strategic sourcing, project management, or procurement, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Experience in HVDC projects will be an added advantage.
