The European Spallation Source ERIC is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Professional to join its team. As an Information Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead operational security capabilities, including monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Develop, monitor, and advise on security plans and controls to protect against cyber threats.
- Monitor and maintain awareness of external threats and emerging risks to stay ahead of potential security breaches.
- Participate in planning, procurement, and system development activities to ensure appropriate security requirements are managed.
- Coordinate and participate in internal audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Consult and advise on information security requirements and activities across the organization.
- Support information security awareness campaigns and trainings to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in computer science, engineering, or a related field. You should have approximately five years or more of professional working experience in most of the tasks listed above, and have led incident response actions and investigations, performed information security risk assessments, and developed and documented security standards, guidelines, and procedures.
You should also have prior hands-on experience working with enterprise information technology, operating security tooling, including endpoint protection, network monitoring solutions, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, email protection, and other services. Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, as it is the working language at ESS, and fluency in Swedish is an advantage to facilitate communication with Swedish authorities and law enforcement.
We believe that you enjoy communicating and collaborating with a large number of internal and external stakeholders, effectively navigating the organization and translating business requirements into security solutions. You are a problem-solver who easily takes initiative, dealing with a large number of people, you are aware that flexibility and patience in combination with firmness is sometimes required.
