About the Position
We are seeking two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join Professor Luca Jovine's research group at the Department of Biosciences and Nutrition. This position offers a unique opportunity to explore the molecular mechanisms of gamete recognition and fusion, with a focus on structural biology and protein-protein interactions.
The successful candidates will have significant hands-on experience in mammalian and/or insect cell expression, purification, and biochemical characterization of proteins. Experience in analyzing protein-protein interactions using different techniques and approaches is also required.
About the Project
The project aims to shed light on the molecular events that occur during fertilization, with a particular focus on the recognition and fusion of the female and male gametes. The research group has state-of-the-art equipment for recombinant protein expression, protein purification, and sample characterization, as well as access to advanced imaging facilities and computational resources.
About the Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. At least one first-author paper in a high-quality international peer-reviewed journal is required, as well as fluency in English (both written and oral).
