About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bid Engineer to join our team at Alstom, specializing in rolling stock maintenance. As a key member of our engineering function, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our customers' vehicles from a sustainability, cost, and efficiency perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Technical Work Streams: Lead technical work streams in tenders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project schedules.
  • Deliver Maintenance Plans: Develop and deliver comprehensive maintenance plans, including bill of materials, direct maintenance cost models, and risk/opportunity registers.
  • Evaluate Maintenance Strategies: Collaborate with tender teams to evaluate and define maintenance strategies, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Optimize Maintenance Costs: Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs, improve efficiency, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
  • Challenge Manufacturing Units: Work closely with manufacturing units to develop vehicles and define Life Cycle Costs (LCC), ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Review and Consolidate RAM/LCC Data: Analyze and consolidate RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) and LCC data with maintenance project engineers and systems engineers.
  • Ensure Feedback and Experience Sharing: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing experiences and best practices from maintenance projects.
  • Promote Latest Maintenance Techniques: Encourage the adoption of cutting-edge maintenance techniques, such as Condition-Based Maintenance and Reliability-Centered Maintenance.
  • Identify and Implement Maintenance Optimizations: Proactively identify opportunities for maintenance cost reductions and implement improvements in existing projects.
  • Carry Out Risk Analyses: Conduct thorough risk analyses to ensure the identification and mitigation of potential risks.

  • Masters's Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Experience
  • Fluent English
  • 2-3 Years of Experience in a Technical Role, Preferably in Railways System/Application Engineering
  • Knowledge of Rolling Stock Equipment
  • Experience of LCC Analysis
  • Proficient in the Use of MS Office, SAP, BI/BO
