Nordic Light Hotel Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Nordic Light Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen activities, including staff management, menu preparation, food quality control, and inventory management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the kitchen team and ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Collaborate with the F&B Manager to develop and implement creative menu offerings for Lykke
  • Assist with planning and directing food preparation in our kitchens
  • Help with inventory management and supply planning
  • Ensure the kitchen meets safety standards and staff adhere to sanitation regulations
  • Direct food preparation and delegate tasks to team members
  • Schedule and plan staff, manage daily work in kitchen stations, and maintain production pace
  • Monitor consistency of food quality during service
  • Maintain high standards for performance, appearance, and timekeeping
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Manage received stock and implement waste reduction strategies
  • Perform monthly inventory tasks as required
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Formal culinary training or relevant work experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high standards
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • High professional ethics and a genuine passion for food
  • Fluent verbal communication in Swedish and/or English
