We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a Critical Environment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, which are the backbone of our cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical and Mechanical Systems Maintenance: Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety equipment, and HVAC systems within the data center.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, cooling systems, fire/life safety equipment, and generators to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaboration with Contractors and Engineers: Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
- Site Walk-Throughs and Safety Initiatives: Perform site walk-throughs to verify proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems, and participate in safety initiatives to foster a world-class safety culture.
- Alarm Monitoring and Response: Monitor all alarms and systems involved in the operation of power, cooling, and fire suppression systems in the data center.
- Vendor Coordination and Support: Plan and coordinate vendor works on site to ensure equipment is maintained and uptime retained.
- Team Support and Knowledge Sharing: Support other sites and teams during events and planned works, and participate in knowledge sharing and development initiatives.
- Experience in Electrical or Mechanical Systems: Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission-critical environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, web-based operational tools, Change Management Systems (CMS), and Ticket Systems.
- Valid Driving License: A valid driving license is required.
- Data Center Engineering Experience: Experience in data center engineering.
- Relevant Degree: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Language Skills: Good command of English.
