We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineer (Mechanical Equipment) to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our data center's mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Plan, coordinate, and execute preventative maintenance tasks across all data center sites to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with cooling equipment, including Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling Units, and ancillary systems.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify and address equipment failures, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing on-the-job training and support to ensure seamless knowledge transfer.
- Contractor Management: Supervise contractors performing maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring compliance with Amazon's standards and procedures.
- Operational Readings: Take daily operational readings and provide reports to senior engineers for metrics analysis and reporting.
- Asset Management: Input and manage EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) for assigned assets, ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance records.
- Reporting and Documentation: Update maintenance reports and planners, providing clear and concise documentation for future reference.
- Relevant Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in mechanical equipment maintenance, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel between data center sites on a daily or weekly basis, with a valid EU driver's license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Particular experience in cooling systems, training or certification in cooling systems, and demonstrated capability in understanding and troubleshooting of cooling equipment and fundamentals.
