We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Financial Systems team at Epidemic Sound. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, implementing, configuring, and maintaining internal financial systems and their integrations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with financial data in a business environment and a proven track record of working with financial systems, data pipelines, and cloud-based technologies.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing, owning, and maintaining our financial systems infrastructure to effectively collect, process, and store financial data.
  • Exploring, discovering, analyzing, prototyping, experimenting, and measuring to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and management to define system requirements for new technology implementations and staying updated on industry trends.
  • Contributing to a culture of collective ownership and decision-making, building solutions that are effective now and adaptable for the future.
  • Implementing automation to make processes repeatable, scalable, and secure, ensuring efficiency and reliability across the board.
  • Monitoring systems and networks for issues and vulnerabilities, investigating security incidents in accordance with established policies and protocols.

Some of the key skills and qualifications for this role include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with financial data in a business environment.
  • Proven experience in building and managing integrations and data pipelines using Apache Airflow and Python.
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively align and share information with co-workers.
  • A demonstrated track record of working and communicating effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including managing complex projects that require cross-team collaboration.
  • A proven ability to deliver results both independently and as part of a team, with the initiative to seek help when necessary.
  • A curious and passionate drive for continuous improvement, with a growth mindset and a commitment to building and delivering great solutions to serve our users.
