We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Environment Operations Manager to join our Cloud Infrastructure and Operations team at Microsoft. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our over 200 online businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a Team of Experts: Manage and lead a diverse technical team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control System professionals to support our online services.
- Operate and Maintain Datacenters: Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our datacenters.
- Maximize Critical Environment Availability: Ensure optimal operational efficiency by maximizing Critical Environment availability.
- Reduce Incidents and Improve Efficiency: Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents year over year and deliver on cost/energy efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering Groups: Establish and enhance strong working relationships and engagement with our Engineering Groups (EGs) and business partners.
- Share Best Practices: Work with regional and global peers to share and build best practices across the entire datacenter portfolio.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: AND experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure).
- Experience Managing a Technical Team: Experience managing and leading a diverse technical team.
- Experience in Critical Environment Infrastructures: Experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU).
- Bachelor's Degree in a Relevant Field: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Technical College Certification: Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or services.
- Experience with Large Scale CE Projects: Experience working on large scale CE projects.
- Experience with IT Infrastructure: Experience with the operation of IT infrastructure (Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.).
