Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Animal Welfare
About the Position:The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a senior lecturer/associate professor position in animal welfare with a focus on regulations and legislation. This is a tenured position equivalent to a senior lecturer in the UK or associate professor in the US.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and lead internationally recognized research in animal welfare, with a focus on regulations and legislation.
- Teach and develop courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on animal welfare and regulations.
- Collaborate with other research teams to strengthen interdisciplinary activities and develop national and international networks.
- Apply for external research funding and supervise doctoral students.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the department, faculty, and SLU.
- Communicate research findings and relevant information to society.
- Completed a doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualifications relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated research expertise in animal welfare, with a focus on regulations and legislation.
- Demonstrated pedagogic expertise and ability to integrate research into teaching.
- Experience of teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Good knowledge of Swedish legislation and regulations in the subject.
- Swedish as a working language.
- Good knowledge of English.
