AXA XL’s Energy Transition Risk Engineer Role

At AXA XL, we are committed to supporting our clients in achieving their decarbonization goals. As a key member of our Energy Transition team, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve this mission.

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Energy Transition Risk Engineer to join our team. As a Energy Transition Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for executing the risk consulting strategy for energy transition, aiming at optimizing value added support to the risk carrier and risk consulting services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Advise Underwriters on industry-specific risks and support Clients in implementing their carbon emission reduction strategy to drive AXA's contribution to a decarbonized economy.
  2. Support the Engineering team in providing risk consulting services to clients across the Energy Industry.
  3. Meet with Underwriters, Brokers, and Clients to discuss specific risk consulting solutions to help clients improve their risks while working towards a reduction of their carbon emissions.
  4. Evaluate location and industry-specific risks by visiting client sites and reporting findings in a structured way back to Underwriting and the Client.
  5. Work closely with AXA XL’s Energy Engineers and Underwriters across the globe to provide insights into industry trends, emerging issues, and technical information pertinent to transitioning to a decarbonized economy.
  6. Enhance the Underwriting team’s risk knowledge, select profitable clients, and reduce losses.
  7. Work in compliance with our technical rules and guidelines.
  8. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues interested in learning about Energy Transition.
  9. Support the local Claims team in understanding losses by sharing in-depth industry knowledge.

Requirements

  1. A degree in an engineering field such as Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience in the Energy Industry, specifically in Renewable Technologies, Carbon Capture, or similar.
  3. Interest in the Energy Transition and learning about new and emerging technologies.
  4. Experience working with projects and technologies involving Hydrogen, Biofuels, Carbon Capture, Storage, and Usage or similar.
  5. Ability to work autonomously, be curious, and a highly motivated self-starter with good relationship skills and a great team player.
  6. Fluency in English, other languages a plus.
