We're seeking an experienced Energy Transition Risk Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Risk Consulting department, you'll be responsible for executing the risk consulting strategy for energy transition, aiming to optimize:

  • Value added support to the risk carrier (risk knowledge, risk selection, loss reduction) for the profitability of insured business
  • Risk consulting services to clients as part of the payer-to-partner strategy (risk consulting value proposition & offers, development of a stream of earnings from risk consulting services to clients)

This exciting opportunity comes with investment from AXA Group, allowing us to develop our global Energy strategy and position ourselves as a leader in the market. You'll work closely with the Risk Consulting Energy Transition Leader and the Global Head of Energy to drive this strategy forward.

As an Energy Transition Risk Engineer, you'll embody our values of profitable growth, teamwork, underwriting excellence, discipline, and consistency. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising Underwriters on industry-specific risks and supporting Clients in implementing their carbon emission reduction strategy to drive AXA's contribution to a decarbonized economy.
  • Working with the engineering team to support the broad energy portfolio of AXA XL.
  • Meeting with Underwriters, Brokers, and Clients of the Energy Industry to discuss specific risk consulting solutions that help clients improve their risks while working towards a reduction of their carbon emissions.
  • Evaluating location and industry-specific risks by visiting client sites and reporting your findings in a structured way back to Underwriting and the Client.
  • Providing insights into industry trends, emerging issues, and technical information pertinent to transitioning to a decarbonized economy to AXA XL's Energy Engineers and Underwriters across the globe.
  • Helping the Underwriting team enhance their risk knowledge, select profitable clients, and reduce losses.
  • Working in compliance with our technical rules and guidelines.
  • Sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues interested in learning about energy transition.
  • Supporting the local claims team in understanding losses we pay, utilizing your in-depth industry knowledge.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in an engineering field such as chemical engineering, process engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in the Energy Industry, preferably with knowledge of renewable technologies, fossil fuel power generation, oil & gas, nuclear power generation, or similar fields.
  • An interest in the energy transition and willingness to learn about new and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with projects and technologies involving Hydrogen, Biofuels, Carbon Capture Storage and Usage would be beneficial.
  • The ability to work autonomously, being curious and highly motivated, with good relationship skills and a strong team player attitude.
  • Availability for travel when required.
  • Fluency in English - other languages are a plus.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
