About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Design Director to join our team at Embark Studios AB. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and guiding our design team to create innovative and engaging game experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design Leadership: Provide clear and concise direction to the design team, ensuring that our game experiences meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
  2. Team Management: Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment that encourages growth and development.
  3. Project Planning: Plan, prioritize, and set goals with the team to facilitate an iterative and creative process, ensuring that we deliver high-quality game experiences on time.
  4. Culture Development: Actively strive to improve and evolve our design culture within the company, promoting a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 10+ years of creative work across multiple types of games, with at least 5+ years of experience managing and directing a design team.
  2. Game Development: Experience launching and operating AAA live service and/or free-to-play games, with a strong understanding of the game development process.
  3. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Problem-Solving: Ability to overcome unique design challenges and adapt to shifting priorities and timelines.
  5. Creativity and Innovation: Strong creative vision and ability to drive innovation and creativity within the team.
