Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Grid and Power Quality Solutions team at Hitachi Energy Sweden AB. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our energy storage system (ESS) rack in our SVC Light Enhanced solution.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the electromechanical design of our ESS rack, collaborating with external partners and suppliers to drive design choices, establish requirements, and review designs.
- Ensure all requirements and aspects from the life cycle of the solution are considered, including maintainability, transport, backwards compatibility, and traceability.
- Work to identify, plan, and specify product testing and certifications needed as part of our development project.
- Support the development of fire and electrical safety concepts and ensure the ESS rack design is adapted to support safety procedures.
- Contribute to the development of strategic technology plans and roadmaps.
- Act with integrity and transparency in a complex environment, seeking collaboration within and outside the company.
- A master's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field.
- Several years of experience with mechanical design and strong knowledge in product and parts specification and design documentation.
- Knowledge and expertise in mechanical design of electrical apparatus and products, such as battery system enclosures, modules, or racks.
- Experience from supporting supplier selection and specifying requirements to sub-suppliers on parts and assemblies.
- An interest in process improvement and the ability to contribute to developing our ability and routines to maintain a product design and its parts.
- Experience from energy storage applications is a plus.
