Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Project Controls Professional to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you'll be responsible for establishing processes, templates, and tools to ensure successful project delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline, recommending corrective actions to drive best value for the client.
- Leading the evaluation of project time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls as necessary.
- Coordinating with a remote team of cost managers to reach an agreed, market-tested cost baseline and ensure the client receives value for money.
- Guiding and influencing the general contractor to ensure they're progressing in line with the schedule and within agreed cash flow parameters.
- Acting as the key point of contact to the client, overcoming delivery and commercial issues while preparing formal and ad hoc reports on time, cost, and quality targets.
- Controlling costs with knowledge of conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, basic contingency principles, and procurement principles.
- Creating and/or working within a cost report, summarizing financials in an executive-level dashboard.
- Understanding change management principles, leading agreed change management processes, and providing a platform for adding, tracking, monitoring, and approving change.
- Coordinating and leading planning sessions and workshops with clients and vendors to compile the master project/programme schedule, agreeing baselines and a critical path.
- Understanding procurement principles, collating lead times from vendors and clients into the master schedule, and communicating prioritization of ordering materials and equipment to meet scheduled install dates.
- Working closely with the client to define vendor schedule requirements.
- Actively participating in project team risk evaluations, incorporating defined risks into Monte Carlo simulations to output quantitative impacts on the overall project cost and schedule.
- Working closely with the project team to stay informed on project changes, incorporating and communicating these to the project team to allow for approvals in the change management process.
- Holding vendors accountable for required schedule updates and reporting to maintain timely and accurate updates of the master schedule, ensuring schedules adhere to the defined process and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Experience in project controls coordination in all phases of the project lifecycle, including program, risk, and reporting, with project experience in very large complex construction projects, ideally in the Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, Life Science sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in determining corrective actions or recommendations based on facts and figures, critically evaluating information and data from various sources.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and Primavera P6.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Reliable with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills, quick thinking, and ability to meet project deadlines as necessary.
- Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to clients and the ability to work independently.
