Data Scientist Job Description at emagine Consulting
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and deploying high-performance, stable, scalable systems that drive business growth. They will be an exemplary team member who drives best practices and sets standards for the team. As a key influencer in the team's strategy, they will contribute significantly to team planning and make informed decisions that balance short-term and long-term business needs.
The perfect candidate will have a background in a quantitative or technical field, with experience working with experimentation on large datasets, strong statistics, analytics, and data-driven decision making. They will be results-oriented, a self-starter, and have demonstrated success in using analytics to drive product growth and success.
As a Data Scientist at emagine Consulting, you will delight in data science and leverage AI/ML/RL to drive business decisions for hundreds of millions of customers across web, mobile, and connected devices. Key responsibilities include:
- Expertise in Python language, including asynchronous, non-blocking, functional programming styles and implementation.
- Strong SQL & NoSQL experience and performance tuning, with expertise in Databricks Platform (SQL, Compute, Clusters, ML, Workflows).
- Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) in building and architecting data pipelines and analytics workflows, including unit testing and data testing of DBT-based SQL & Python models.
- Experimentation design and A/B testing, with expert knowledge of statistical analysis, including P-value, T-Test, Lift calculations for experimentation analysis.
- Machine learning and reinforcement learning systems (ML/RL), including building ML models, ML operations, and feature engineering, with related tooling for shared feature stores, release, and deployment management.
- Experience working with Exploit vs Exploration problems and related Bandit algorithms for Experimentation, including Contextual Multi Armed Bandits, Epsilon-*, Search, Ranking, Markov Chains, Attribution, Decision, Thompson Sampling, and other families of algorithms.
- Quantitative analysis, machine learning, modeling, statistics, attribution, research, and algorithm development.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative way on large-scale projects, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Required MS Degree or PHD in Computer Science, Maths, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
