The Department of Physics at Stockholm University is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Associate Professor in Medical Radiation Physics. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, teaching, and supervision within the field of medical radiation physics.

In order to qualify for the position, applicants must have demonstrated good teaching skills and hold a doctoral degree or equivalent research expertise relevant to the subject area. A master's degree in Medical Radiation Physics or a similar field is also required.

The department is looking for an individual with experience in teaching non-clinical medical radiation physics and skills in administration of education. Completed training in teaching and learning in higher education is an advantage.

Main Responsibilities

Research: Conducting original research in medical radiation physics, publishing papers in reputable journals, and presenting research findings at international conferences.

Teaching: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in medical radiation physics, developing new course materials, and assessing student performance.

Supervision: Supervising PhD students, providing guidance on research projects, and contributing to their academic development.

Administration: Participating in departmental meetings, serving on committees, and contributing to the development of departmental policies.

A strong understanding of the principles of medical radiation physics, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for this role. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research and teaching activities, as well as participate in departmental service.
