The Device Lifecycle Management Specialist will play a critical role in managing the lifecycle of our organization's device estate, ensuring global standards are defined, communicated, and maintained. This role involves close collaboration with various teams and stakeholders, focusing on sustainability, automation, simplification, and commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate global hardware standards.
  • Own and maintain global hardware standards.
  • Technology Introduction and Engagement:
  • Present new technologies to the business.
  • Engage with the business for 'proof of technology' solutions.
  • Handle the onboarding and off-boarding of technology.
  • Collaboration with Teams:
  • Work closely with the Refresh-IT service team to agree on appropriate device availability for leasing.
  • Amend the hardware catalogue as needed for different regions, countries, or sites.
  • Device Standards and Catalogue Management:
  • Collaborate with the Hardware Lifecycle Manager to establish appropriate device standards for both specialist and lease catalogues.
  • Align these standards with relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Own and update the devices catalogue.
  • Stay aware of market changes and plan for challenges and changes.
  • Focus Areas:
  • Emphasize sustainability, automation, simplification, and commercial opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Management:
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Manage pricing and contracts with OEMs.
  • Handle OEM management for brands like Dell, Apple, Samsung, etc.
  • Annual Device Transitions:
  • Plan, test, communicate, and manage stock changes.
  • Update ServiceNow catalogue datasets accordingly.
  • Supply Chain Management:
  • Optimize supply chain strategies.
  • Manage buffer stock and other value-added reseller (VAR) services.
  • Service Governance and Performance:
  • Ensure service levels are met or exceeded.
  • Escalate issues to the Global Desktop Lead when necessary.
  • Assist with contract negotiations.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Provide data analysis to support business requirements.
  • Act as an SME for global device ordering processes.
  • Manage procurement challenges and drive process improvements.
  • Sustainability and Disposal Management:
  • Develop a disposal dashboard to meet sustainability targets.
  • Expand VAR offerings where possible.
