Packaging Material Development Specialist

The Packaging Material Development Specialist will be part of the Material Solutions team and will work on packaging material and package development.

Main Responsibilities

  • As a key member of a scrum team, the specialist will translate requirements into sub-system requirements and technical specifications for the packaging area.
  • Support the translation of requirements into packaging material and package design, ensuring effective collaboration with suppliers, specialists, laboratories, and converting factories.
  • Develop and implement a VV strategy related to packaging material and package area for technology and product development projects.
  • Write test specifications, analyze, and document results using reports, with a focus on driving root cause investigations on packaging material and package performance and functionality.
  • Drive risk assessment for packaging material and package, ensuring compliance with existing procedures, standards, and methods.
  • Develop and implement new procedures, tests, and validation methods according to requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Analytical skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • A team player who can take on individual initiatives and activities while working collaboratively with others.
  • A natural drive for problem-solving, with the ability to coordinate and deliver desirable results.
  • An academic degree, preferably a Master of Science in Materials or similar, with a strong foundation in the field.
  • Good communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and collaborate with international teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Past experience in the product development process in the packaging area, with a focus on translating requirements into packaging material and package design.
  • Experience in technical test methodologies in the packaging area, with a focus on driving root cause investigations and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of Packaging Material, Food Package Interaction, and Statistics, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in packaging solutions.
  • Well-acquainted and self-sufficient in Physical Testing, with a focus on developing and implementing new procedures and tests.
  • Knowledge of Requirement Management procedure, with the ability to ensure effective collaboration with suppliers, specialists, laboratories, and converting factories.
  • Knowledge of scrum and agile methodologies is a plus, with the ability to effectively apply these principles to drive collaboration and results.
