About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Substation Automation Engineer to join our team in Västerås, Sweden. As a key member of our Grid Integration Business Unit, you will be responsible for developing and implementing substation automation systems, working closely with our team of senior experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop substation automation systems, including gateways, HMI, and communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with our team to establish data exchange between bay-level and station-level systems.
  • Engineer and test NCC interfaces, prepare test protocols for SA systems.
  • Support our delivery organization with implementation of new solutions and tender organization for new opportunities.
  • Work with station interfaces, both locally and remotely.
  • Train and support the organization in applying new HMI and SCADA solutions.
  • Perform HMI and SCADA verification of control systems in test rooms and on-site.

About You

  • Hold a university degree in a relevant technical area, with competence and experience in the IEC61850 domain.
  • Significant experience in energy/utility substation design, grid automation, and P&C products.
  • Background in electrical control systems and SCADA/DCS systems.
  • Knowledge of standards, with emphasis on IEC61850.
  • Competency in substation automation engineering for station control systems based on Micro SCADA, IEC61850-8-1 standard, MODBUS, OPC DA/UA, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Ethernet topologies and redundancy concepts.
  • 4+ years of experience with Substation Automation Systems.
  • Experience in IEC61850, HMI, event and database handling, communication protocols is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
