We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research group at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. Our team is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms defining the transcriptomic and epigenomic states of oligodendrocyte lineage cells.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to top-quality medical research and work in a multidisciplinary environment with experienced scientists. Your mission will be to study the functional role of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the oligodendroglia lineage and its implication in multiple sclerosis.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in a 5-year full-time research project funded by the European Research Council Advanced Grant. You will have the chance to work with state-of-the-art techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics data management, preprocessing, and analysis.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a PhD in medical sciences, immunology, or neurosciences, or equivalent. Previous experience in neuroimmunology and/or immune diseases, multiparametric flow cytometry/cell sorting, culturing human pluripotent stem cell lines, and molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.
Our research group is based at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB), at the Karolinska Institutet (KI), Stockholm, Sweden. This Unit has presently eight research groups, providing a unique critical mass and expertise, and vibrant scientific environment.
Karolinska Institutet is one of the world's leading medical universities, committed to pursuing the development of knowledge about life and promoting better health for all. We offer a competitive salary of around €55,000-€65,000 per year, depending on your qualifications and experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in a dynamic and innovative environment. If you are a talented researcher looking to make a difference in the field of molecular neurobiology, we encourage you to apply.
