Sustainability Manager

As a key member of our Responsible Purchasing team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing our global Human Rights Due Diligence program. Your expertise will help us ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adhere to our Supply Partner Code of Conduct. You'll also be responsible for developing the Supply Partner Code of Conduct, policy, and platform for our collaboration with supply partners in building sustainable supply networks.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and leading the implementation and scaling of the global Human Rights Due Diligence program for the Volvo Group supply network.
- Researching, interpreting, and applying Human Rights due diligence frameworks and guidelines related to supply chain activities, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks in close cooperation with Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing Legal & Compliance.
- Providing direction on Human Rights compliance and due diligence based on current and future regulatory landscapes globally, coaching, and training to continuously build knowledge and capabilities within the organization.
- Acting as owner and securing the development and implementation of relevant Human Rights due diligence tools, guidelines, directives, processes, and related targets.
- Collaborating with the Responsible Purchasing team to actively contribute to and participate in the buildup, implementation, and roll-out of the Responsible Purchasing Roadmap.
- Participating in external industry groups and compliance networks representing Volvo Group Purchasing.
We're looking for a passionate and experienced professional with a track record of working on ESG strategies in a multinational corporate environment. You'll have the ability to identify opportunities and risks from a sustainability perspective, with a focus on Human Rights and People. Your leadership skills, creativity, and ability to operate in a world of uncertainties will be essential in driving change and managing cross-functional projects involving a wide range of stakeholders.
Required experience and education include:
- A Master of Science or equivalent in a relevant field with a minimum of five years of work experience as a sustainability professional.
- A deep understanding within the compliance and due diligence field with a focus on human rights, preferably in a supply network context.
A relevant degree in law or business administration is considered an advantage for this position. To succeed in this role, we believe you have experience driving progress in human rights, international relations, law, or related areas.
