Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project & Commodity Buyer to enhance our procurement team. This role is crucial in shaping the future of our suspension systems, enabling our customers to achieve greater speed, safety, and comfort. Our global purchasing and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team comprises over 20 professionals across four countries, and we are looking to bolster our Upplands Väsby office with an additional commodity purchaser.
Main Responsibilities
As a Project & Commodity Buyer, you will hold significant commercial responsibilities in developing new and enhanced business cases, where your technical and commercial expertise will have a direct impact. Your duties will include:
- Identifying and selecting new or existing suppliers for both development and application projects.
- Collaborating with suppliers, SQA, and R&D to determine the optimal sourcing and manufacturing methods.
- Focusing on cost reduction through negotiation, value analysis/value engineering, resource allocation, minimum order quantities, and lead times.
- Driving supplier development to meet specified requirements and sustainability goals.
- Managing supplier relationships, addressing escalated supply chain issues, and conducting evaluations.
This position is based at our headquarters in Upplands Väsby, with the possibility of hybrid work arrangements. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience as a commodity purchaser, particularly in metal components, electronics, or electromechanical components. A solid understanding of various manufacturing methods and cost drivers based on technical drawings and specifications is essential.
We require a degree in engineering, finance, or purchasing (B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent vocational qualification). A minimum of five years of purchasing experience, particularly within the automotive or manufacturing sectors, is preferred. Proficiency in both Swedish and English is mandatory.
