Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project & Commodity Buyer to enhance our procurement team. In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of our product offerings and business strategies, ensuring that our customers experience superior performance, safety, and comfort in their rides. Our global purchasing and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team comprises over 20 professionals across four countries, and we are looking to strengthen our purchasing capabilities in Upplands Väsby with five dedicated commodity purchasers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project and Commodity Buyer, you will hold significant commercial responsibilities in developing new and enhanced business cases, where your technical and commercial expertise will have a direct impact. Your duties will include:

  • Identifying and selecting new or existing suppliers for both development and application projects.
  • Collaborating with suppliers, SQA, and R&D to determine the optimal sourcing and manufacturing methods.
  • Focusing on cost reduction through negotiation, value analysis/value engineering, resource allocation, minimum order quantities, and lead times.
  • Driving supplier development to meet specified requirements and sustainability goals.
  • Managing supplier relationships, addressing escalated supply chain issues, and conducting evaluations.

This position is based at our head office in Upplands Väsby, with hybrid work options available to a certain extent. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience as a commodity purchaser, particularly in metal components, electronics, or electromechanical components. A solid understanding of various manufacturing methods and cost drivers based on technical drawings and specifications is essential.

A degree in Engineering, Finance, or Purchasing (B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent vocational qualification) is expected, along with a minimum of five years of purchasing experience. Familiarity with the automotive or manufacturing sectors is advantageous. Fluency in both Swedish and English is required.
