Job Summary

CorPower Ocean AB is seeking a highly skilled Composite Design Engineer to join our team of experts in wave energy. As a key member of our Composite Team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible composite structures for our wave energy converters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop composite structures for wave energy converters, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including pre-FEA and verification, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare FEA models from Creo CAD files and perform composite structural analysis in ANSYS Mechanical to validate design integrity.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for FEA usage in the development process, ensuring efficient and effective design optimization.
  • Investigate new solutions to improve processes, performance, reliability, and manufacturability, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.
  • Manage tasks to meet performance, schedule, and budget targets, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Support procurement activities, including component and supplier selection, manufacturing, and factory acceptance testing of modules.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical design and composite manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient production.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in composite design and analysis, with a strong background in FEA and ANSYS Mechanical.
  • Proficiency in working with steady-state analysis of composite FEA structures, with experience in certification of products through bodies such as DNV.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small, agile team.
  • Highly proficient in English.
