As a Senior UX Design Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for our services in the US market. You will oversee and guide the creation of our digital in-app experience, ensuring deep customer understanding and development of the Fishbrain operating model for user research together with other departments.

This role involves discovery, user research, UI, and leadership on both strategic and operational levels. As Senior UX Design Lead, you will be responsible for driving improvement to Fishbrain's operating model for how we do design, including discovery, user research, prototyping, and hi-fi design, ensuring best practices are documented.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and experience in user design principles, with significant experience in user research. They should also possess excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Set UX Vision & Strategy: Develop and implement a vision for UX and create a strategy to achieve it.
  • Coach & Mentor Design Team: Coach and mentor your design colleagues to deliver consistent, user-centered solutions.
  • Discovery & Research: Implement and maintain strong discovery and research practices among the teams.
  • User Experience Ownership: Holistic ownership of the user experience, including iOS, Android, and Web.
  • Design Improvement: Drive improvement to Fishbrain's operating model for how we do design, including discovery, user research, prototyping, and hi-fi design, ensuring best practices are documented.
  • Pain Point Identification: Act as a stakeholder to the teams identifying pain points in the user journey.
  • Feedback Loops: Ensure that feedback loops with US-based users are integrated into the development cycle.
  • User Needs Understanding: Maintain a strong understanding of user needs, industry trends, and the competitor landscape (focus on the US market).
  • Engagement Drivers: Identify and execute on engagement drivers in the app across the whole customer journey.
  • Design Library & Guidelines: Maintain and improve our design library and guidelines for a consistent design system with reusable components.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to align design decisions with overall product strategy.
  • Prototyping & Usability Testing: Create prototypes, conduct usability testing to validate design concepts, and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Hi-Fi Designs & Development: Implement validated concepts into hi-fi designs and work with developers to get functionality shipped.

About You

  • Strong UX Skills: Strong understanding and experience in user design principles, with significant experience in user research.
  • Deep App Knowledge: Deep understanding of app and customer service design principles.
  • Current Design Trends: Solid knowledge of current design trends, mobile app design guidelines, and best practices.
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management: Excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Passionate Product Evangelist: A passionate product and customer evangelist.
  • Structured with Attention to Detail: Structured with attention to detail and quality.
  • Proactive Leadership: Proactive and taking ownership of your area and results at a senior level.
  • Excellent Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills in English.

Experience

  • 7+ Years UX/UI Design Experience: 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design, including 2+ years in a similar position or leadership role.
  • Hands-on Design Experience: Experience in delivering hands-on in all parts of the design process.
  • Analytics Tools: Solid experience working with analytics support tools like Amplitude, Tableau, or comparable.
  • Successful Digital Products: Proven track record of designing successful digital products or services across various platforms (web, iOS, Android).
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of enabling high-performing teams.

Bonus Requirements:

  • Figma Proficiency: High proficiency in Figma is meriting.
  • Consumer Apps Experience: Experience working with consumer apps is meriting.
