Work assignments
The Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE) conducts research, undergraduate education, and graduate education in organic electronics and energy materials. Within the research unit Organic Energy Materials (OEM), we utilize and investigate the physics and chemistry of new organic and composite materials to design and manufacture the next generation of energy devices.
Our research includes the synthesis, theory, design, and characterization of materials, as well as the integration of new materials into energy devices. The energy devices in focus are redox flow batteries and various types of electrolyzers, which means the developed materials can include electrolytes, membranes, catalysts, and electrodes.
As an Associate Professor in Organic Energy Materials, you teach at the undergraduate and advanced levels in both Swedish and English and supervise students in the faculty’s various educational programs. The work includes course design and course responsibility.
You are active in the research community, participate in the department’s activities such as seminars and workshops, engage in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding.
You actively contribute to the university’s development efforts. Collaboration is an integral part of the university's research and education mission. Collaboration in education involves planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality education in interaction with stakeholders from the surrounding society. Collaboration in research involves disseminating, making research accessible, and applying its results.
The position may also involve administrative duties, such as environmental issues. We also welcome your participation and interest in leadership roles. Your work includes keeping up-to-date with national and international developments in your subject area and broader societal trends relevant to your work.

You share your knowledge and contribute to the professional development of the team, collegial working methods, and social cohesion. Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a PhD or equivalent scientific competence, as well as demonstrated teaching proficiency or other professional expertise relevant to the subject matter and responsibilities of the position.
For this position, particular emphasis will be placed on scientific proficiency, followed by teaching proficiency and other skills, which will be considered of equal importance.
Regarding scientific proficiency, the following will be assessed:
- A requirement for the position is prior experience in research within applied electrochemistry and materials science.
- Particularly meritorious for the position is holding a docent qualification in a field relevant to the position.
- Particularly meritorious for the position is prior research experience in electrocatalysis, especially with a focus on functional polymers.
Regarding teaching proficiency, the following will be assessed:
- A requirement for the position is prior experience in supervising students and teaching at the advanced level.
- Particularly meritorious is previous experience in supervision and teaching within the field of electrochemistry.
Other skills that will be assessed for this position include:
- A requirement for the position is strong collaboration skills, as well as the ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team.
As teaching and research are conducted in English, you must demonstrate the ability to teach and conduct research in English.
This employment is permanent, full-time. Starting date by agreement.
