SENIOR E&I INSPECTOR

We are on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. Our green steel production in Boden will be powered by one of the world's largest green hydrogen plants, running on renewable electricity. Instead of emitting large amounts of CO2, as in traditional steelmaking processes, our primary emission will be water.

We are currently recruiting for an E&I Supervisor to join our team working on a construction project of a large steel manufacturing site. As an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. This role is located in Boden and would be on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. We can cater for both locally employed or self-employed options.

Responsibilities

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure the Construction Contractor adheres to the project health, environmental protection, safety, and well-being plan.

Coordination and Documentation:

  • Attend daily coordination meetings and maintain detailed records of the quality of work performed.
  • Keep track of man-hours spent by Vendor Specialists.

Progress Monitoring and Scope Management:

  • Understand and implement agreed physical progress measurement systems for field activities.
  • Define the scope of work for potential extra work, staying within specified boundaries and obtaining necessary approvals.

Material Inspection and Reporting:

  • Inspect prefabricated materials to ensure correct fabrication and markings.
  • Attend progress meetings and collaborate with Construction Management and Contractors to prepare meeting notes.

Contractual Compliance and Reporting:

  • Understand and enforce contractual quality requirements for construction work under supervision.
  • Report the physical progress and other relevant details of construction contracts and vendor specialist activities to Construction Management.

Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation:

  • Advise the Construction Manager on the performance of Construction Contractors and Vendor Specialists.
  • Report the preliminary mechanical completion of construction contracts and prepare draft completion certificates for the Construction Manager's approval.

Pre-commissioning and Commissioning Support:

  • Provide support to the Pre-commissioning and Commissioning Team.
  • Process site queries and coordinate hand-over to commissioning paperwork.

Documentation and Lessons Learned:

  • Coordinate punch list resolutions and compile lessons learned for inclusion in the project close-out report.
  • Participate in the development, communication, and implementation of the field QA/QC plan.
  • Enforce the Field QA/QC plan and Inspection Test Plan (ITP) with subcontractors and on-site personnel.

Submittal and Documentation Control:

  • Ensure no subcontractor performs work without approved submittals, shop drawings, or engineering documents.
  • Oversee special field inspections and testing, ensuring proper documentation.
