The Job:

The Finance Controller is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and performance of the BMI Sweden entity. You will report to the Finance Director Sweden to ensure BMI Sweden's financial priorities are met.

The role will provide financial insights and recommendations to the Sweden Leadership Team and Senior Management, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

Your Main Tasks:

  1. Work closely with the FD Sweden, Country MD, Nordic Finance Director, Central finance, and GBS to lead end-to-end finance processes.
  2. Steer the finance functions through a period of rapid change, ensuring robust and efficient processes.
  3. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of processes with robust control and compliance mechanisms.
  4. Deliver financial accounting and controls, statutory reporting, technical accounting expertise, and efficient financial operations.
  5. Oversee all company accounts and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  6. Reduce the period close efforts and improve task efficiencies.
  7. Report timely and accurate financial information, analysis, and insights to senior stakeholders.
  8. Act as the point of contact for all technical accounting queries, auditors, tax advisors, and relevant authorities.
  9. Adopt BMI Core process & technology standards and ensure proactive engagement in Finance Governance.
  10. Oversee audits, including liaising with auditors and ensuring audit recommendations are addressed.
  11. Foster collaboration and drive reporting to BMI's shareholders.
  12. Manage and oversee the preparation of the company's financial statements to ensure they are accurate and timely.

Your Experience:

  1. University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably with a professional financial qualification related to chartered accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
  3. Superior understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, including IFRS accounting principles.
  4. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  7. Demonstrated strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles.
  8. Proficiency in Excel or Sheets, particularly with handling large datasets.
  9. Experience in working with SAP / S4 Hana and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is ideal.
  10. Solid experience in stakeholder management in an international/Nordic environment.
  11. Proactive personality with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
  12. Fluency in Swedish and very good skills in English.
