ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing next-generation hardware solutions in high-speed telecommunications. This is a pure design role—we are not looking for an FPGA coding expert but rather someone with strong expertise in hardware design. You will work on complex products including high-speed optical, RF design, and ASICs, and you should have a good understanding of Linux and FPGA design environments.

Your Responsibilities

  • Advanced Circuit Design: Develop and design advanced electronic circuit boards with signaling rates up to 400 Gbit/s. Your designs will typically incorporate high-performance FPGA devices, DC-DC converters, embedded computer modules, high-speed memories, and optical modules.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Participate in the entire process of launching new products and maintaining our existing portfolio, ensuring both high quality and manufacturability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely within a small, focused team while actively engaging with cross-functional groups—including Software, Firmware, Applications, Mechanical, Layout, and Test developers—to drive innovation and ensure seamless integration.
  • Agile Environment: Contribute to an agile, self-driven team that values rapid iteration, autonomy, and a holistic approach to product development.

ABOUT THE TEAM
You will join an autonomous team of 8 developers, including 2 hardware designers. The team also comprises colleagues responsible for testing, verification, configuration management/quality control, and lab support. Working in an agile setting, the team collaborates closely with both the platform and development teams. Your immediate manager and architect is Magnus, who, together with the team, drives innovation and quality in our solutions.

YOUR PROFILE
Given smaller and self-autonomous teams, there is a demand and wish that you thrive working in a more flexible/entrepreneurial way of working. Even though you are a skilled engineer, you still have a curiosity to learn and evolve but also share your expertise with others.

Seen to the technical elements:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in hardware design, ideally with a background in telecommunications.
  • You possess extensive expertise in hardware design, with knowledge of FPGA environments (note: this role is focused on design, not FPGA coding).
  • You have solid experience with Linux and its associated tools.
  • Experience in RF design is considered a plus.
  • It is a bonus if you are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, as communication within our team is currently conducted in Swedish.
